* selftests/bpf: Rename fallback in bpf_dctcp to avoid naming conflictPu Lehui2024-09-051-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Recently, when compiling bpf selftests on RV64, the following compilation failure occurred: progs/bpf_dctcp.c:29:21: error: redefinition of 'fallback' as different kind of symbol 29 | volatile const char fallback[TCP_CA_NAME_MAX]; | ^ /workspace/tools/testing/selftests/bpf/tools/include/vmlinux.h:86812:15: note: previous definition is here 86812 | typedef u32 (*fallback)(u32, const unsigned char *, size_t); The reason is that the `fallback` symbol has been defined in arch/riscv/lib/crc32.c, which will cause symbol conflicts when vmlinux.h is included in bpf_dctcp. Let we rename `fallback` string to `fallback_cc` in bpf_dctcp to fix this compilation failure. * selftests/bpf: Drop type of connect_to_fd_optsGeliang Tang2024-07-291-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The "type" parameter of connect_to_fd_opts() is redundant of "server_fd". Since the "type" can be obtained inside by invoking getsockopt(SO_TYPE), without passing it in as a parameter. This patch drops the "type" parameter of connect_to_fd_opts() and updates its callers. * selftests/bpf: Drop type from network_helper_optsGeliang Tang2024-06-211-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The opts.{type, noconnect} is at least a bit non intuitive or unnecessary. The only use case now is in test_bpf_ip_check_defrag_ok which ends up bypassing most (or at least some) of the connect_to_fd_opts() logic. It's much better that test should have its own connect_to_fd_opts() instead. This patch adds a new "type" parameter for connect_to_fd_opts(), then opts->type and getsockopt(SO_TYPE) can be replaced by "type" parameter in it. In connect_to_fd(), use getsockopt(SO_TYPE) to get "type" value and pass it to connect_to_fd_opts(). In bpf_tcp_ca.c and cgroup_v1v2.c, "SOCK_STREAM" types are passed to connect_to_fd_opts(), and in ip_check_defrag.c, different types "SOCK_RAW" and "SOCK_DGRAM" are passed to it. With these changes, the strcut member "type" of network_helper_opts can be dropped now. * selftests/bpf: Drop useless arguments of do_test in bpf_tcp_caGeliang Tang2024-06-061-11/+9
| | | | | | | | | | | | | bpf_map_lookup_elem() has been removed from do_test(), it makes the sk_stg_map argument of do_test() useless. In addition, two exactly the same opts are passed in all the places where do_test() is invoked, so cli_opts argument can be dropped too. * selftests/bpf: Use connect_to_fd_opts in do_test in bpf_tcp_caGeliang Tang2024-06-061-27/+34
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch uses connect_to_fd_opts() instead of using connect_fd_to_fd() and settcpca() in do_test() in prog_tests/bpf_tcp_ca.c to accept a struct network_helper_opts argument. Then define a dctcp dedicated post_socket_cb callback stg_post_socket_cb(), invoking both settcpca() and bpf_map_update_elem() in it, and set it in test_dctcp(). For passing map_fd into stg_post_socket_cb() callback, a new member map_fd is added in struct cb_opts. Here's an example of log output: libbpf: prog 'handler': BPF program load failed: Permission denied libbpf: -- BEGIN PROG LOAD LOG --- arg#0 reference type('UNKNOWN ') size cannot be determined: -22 ; out1 = in1; 0: (18) r1 = 0xffffc9000cdcc000 2: (61) r1 = *(u32 *)(r1 +0) ... 81: (63) *(u32 *)(r4 +0) = r5 R1_w=map_value(id=0,off=16,ks=4,vs=20,imm=0) R4=map_value(id=0,off=400,ks=4,vs=16,imm=0) invalid access to map value, value_size=16 off=400 size=4 R4 min value is outside of the allowed memory range processed 63 insns (limit 1000000) max_states_per_insn 0 total_states 0 peak_states 0 mark_read 0 -- END PROG LOAD LOG -- libbpf: failed to load program 'handler' libbpf: failed to load object 'test_skeleton' The entire verifier log, including BEGIN and END markers are now always youtput during a single print callback call. This should make it much easier to post-process or parse it, if necessary. It's not an explicit API guarantee, but it can be reasonably expected to stay like that. Also __bpf_object__open is renamed to bpf_object_open() as it's always an adventure to find the exact function that implements bpf_object's open phase, so drop the double underscored and use internal libbpf naming convention. * bpf: selftests: Add dctcp fallback testMartin KaFai Lau2021-08-261-23/+83
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch makes the bpf_dctcp test to fallback to cubic by using setsockopt(TCP_CONGESTION) when the tcp flow is not ecn ready. It also checks setsockopt() is not available to release(). The settimeo() from the network_helpers.h is used, so the local one is removed. * selftests/bpf: Turn on libbpf 1.0 mode and fix all IS_ERR checksAndrii Nakryiko2021-05-261-5/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Turn ony libbpf 1.0 mode. Fix all the explicit IS_ERR checks that now will be broken because libbpf returns NULL on error (and sets errno). Fix ASSERT_OK_PTR and ASSERT_ERR_PTR to work for both old mode and new modes and use them throughout selftests. This is trivial to do by using libbpf_get_error() API that all libbpf users are supposed to use, instead of IS_ERR checks. A bunch of checks also did explicit -1 comparison for various fd-returning APIs. Such checks are replaced with >= 0 or < 0 cases. There were also few misuses of bpf_object__find_map_by_name() in test_maps. Those are fixed in this patch as well. * bpf: Remove extra lock_sock for TCP_ZEROCOPY_RECEIVEStanislav Fomichev2021-01-201-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Add custom implementation of getsockopt hook for TCP_ZEROCOPY_RECEIVE. We skip generic hooks for TCP_ZEROCOPY_RECEIVE and have a custom call in do_tcp_getsockopt using the on-stack data. This removes 3% overhead for locking/unlocking the socket. Without this patch: 3.38% 0.07% tcp_mmap [kernel.kallsyms] [k] __cgroup_bpf_run_filter_getsockopt | --3.30%--__cgroup_bpf_run_filter_getsockopt | --0.81%--__kmalloc With the patch applied: 0.52% 0.12% tcp_mmap [kernel.kallsyms] [k] __cgroup_bpf_run_filter_getsockopt_kern Note, exporting uapi/tcp.h requires removing netinet/tcp.h from test_progs.h because those headers have confliciting definitions. * bpf: Add tests for bpf_sk_storage to bpf_tcp_caMartin KaFai Lau2020-03-231-8/+31
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch adds test to exercise the bpf_sk_storage_get() and bpf_sk_storage_delete() helper from the bpf_dctcp.c. The setup and check on the sk_storage is done immediately before and after the connect(). This patch also takes this chance to move the pthread_create() after the connect() has been done. That will remove the need of the "wait_thread" label. * bpf: tcp: Add bpf_cubic exampleMartin KaFai Lau2020-01-231-0/+25
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch adds a bpf_cubic example. Some highlights: 1. CONFIG_HZ .kconfig map is used. 2. In bictcp_update(), calculation is changed to use usec resolution (i.e. USEC_PER_JIFFY) instead of using jiffies. Thus, usecs_to_jiffies() is not used in the bpf_cubic.c. 3. In bitctcp_update() [under tcp_friendliness], the original "while (ca->ack_cnt > delta)" loop is changed to the equivalent "ca->ack_cnt / delta" operation.
