* drm/udl: Convert to struct drm_simple_display_pipeThomas Zimmermann2019-12-111-8/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Udl has a single display pipeline with a primary plane; perfect for simple-pipe helpers. Convert it over. The old encoder and CRTC code becomes unused and obsolete. Exported formats for the primary plane are RGB565 and XRGB8888, with the latter being emulated. The 16-bit format is the default and what is used when communicating with the device. This patch enables atomic modesetting for udl devices. v3: * remove unused field crtc from struct udl_device * set crtc_state->no_vblank at beginning of enable() v2: * move suspend/resume changes into separate patch * remove non-atomic code Signed-off-by: Thomas Zimmermann <[email protected]> Reviewed-by: Emil Velikov <[email protected]> Link: https://patchwork.freedesktop.org/patch/msgid/[email protected]

Split them out. To make sure I actually achieved the goal here I went through all drivers. And indeed, all atomic drivers are now free of drm_crtc_helper.h includes. v2: Make it compile. There was so much compile fail on arm drivers that I figured I'll better not include any of the acks on v1. v3: Massive rebase because i915 has lost a lot of drmP.h includes, but not all: Through drm_crtc_helper.h > drm_modeset_helper.h -> drmP.h there was still one, which this patch largely removes. Which means rolling out lots more includes all over. This will also conflict with ongoing drmP.h cleanup by others I expect. v3: Rebase on top of atomic bochs. v4: Review from Laurent for bridge/rcar/omap/shmob/core bits: - (re)move some of the added includes, use the better include files in other places (all suggested from Laurent adopted unchanged). - sort alphabetically v5: Actually try to sort them, and while at it, sort all the ones I touch. v6: Rebase onto i915 changes. v7: Rebase once more. So why part 1? well I have the exynos pull req which came in a bit late but was waiting for me to do something they shouldn't have and it looks fairly safe, and David Howells has some more header cleanups he'd like me to pull, that seem like a good idea, but I'd like to get this merge out of the way so -next dosen't get blocked." Tons of conflicts mostly due to silly include line changes, but mostly mindless. A few other small semantic conflicts too, noted from Dave's pre-merged branch. * 'drm-next' of git://people.freedesktop.org/~airlied/linux: (447 commits) drm/nv98/crypt: fix fuc build with latest envyas drm/nouveau/devinit: fixup various issues with subdev ctor/init ordering drm/nv41/vm: fix and enable use of "real" pciegart drm/nv44/vm: fix and enable use of "real" pciegart drm/nv04/dmaobj: fixup vm target handling in preparation for nv4x pcie drm/nouveau: store supported dma mask in vmmgr drm/nvc0/ibus: initial implementation of subdev drm/nouveau/therm: add support for fan-control modes drm/nouveau/hwmon: rename pwm0* to pmw1* to follow hwmon's rules drm/nouveau/therm: calculate the pwm divisor on nv50+ drm/nouveau/fan: rewrite the fan tachometer driver to get more precision, faster drm/nouveau/therm: move thermal-related functions to the therm subdev drm/nouveau/bios: parse the pwm divisor from the perf table drm/nouveau/therm: use the EXTDEV table to detect i2c monitoring devices drm/nouveau/therm: rework thermal table parsing drm/nouveau/gpio: expose the PWM/TOGGLE parameter found in the gpio vbios table drm/nouveau: fix pm initialization order drm/nouveau/bios: check that fixed tvdac gpio data is valid before using it drm/nouveau: log channel debug/error messages from client object rather than drm client drm/nouveau: have drm debugging macros build on top of core macros ...

It also contains a few other bits: thermal patches nv41/44 pcie gart fixes i2c unregistering fixes. * 'drm-nouveau-next' of git://anongit.freedesktop.org/git/nouveau/linux-2.6: (191 commits) drm/nv98/crypt: fix fuc build with latest envyas drm/nouveau/devinit: fixup various issues with subdev ctor/init ordering drm/nv41/vm: fix and enable use of "real" pciegart drm/nv44/vm: fix and enable use of "real" pciegart drm/nv04/dmaobj: fixup vm target handling in preparation for nv4x pcie drm/nouveau: store supported dma mask in vmmgr drm/nvc0/ibus: initial implementation of subdev drm/nouveau/therm: add support for fan-control modes drm/nouveau/hwmon: rename pwm0* to pmw1* to follow hwmon's rules drm/nouveau/therm: calculate the pwm divisor on nv50+ drm/nouveau/fan: rewrite the fan tachometer driver to get more precision, faster drm/nouveau/therm: move thermal-related functions to the therm subdev drm/nouveau/bios: parse the pwm divisor from the perf table drm/nouveau/therm: use the EXTDEV table to detect i2c monitoring devices drm/nouveau/therm: rework thermal table parsing drm/nouveau/gpio: expose the PWM/TOGGLE parameter found in the gpio vbios table drm/nouveau: fix pm initialization order drm/nouveau/bios: check that fixed tvdac gpio data is valid before using it drm/nouveau: log channel debug/error messages from client object rather than drm client drm/nouveau: have drm debugging macros build on top of core macros ... | * | drm: remove the raw_edid field from struct drm_display_infoJani Nikula2012-08-231-3/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Neither the drm core nor any of the drivers really need the raw_edid field of struct drm_display_info for anything. Instead of being useful, it creates confusion about who is responsible for freeing the memory it points to and setting the field to NULL afterwards, leading to memory leaks and dangling pointers. Remove the raw_edid field, and fix drivers as necessary. |/ | | | | | | | | | | | Otherwise when X starts we commonly get a black screen scanning out nothing, its wierd dpms on/off from userspace brings it back, With this on F18, multi-seat works again with my 1920x1200 monitor which is above the sku limit for the device I have. * drm/udl: initial UDL driver (v4)Dave Airlie2012-03-151-0/+141
This is an initial drm/kms driver for the displaylink devices. Supports fb_defio, supports KMS dumb interface supports 24bpp via conversion to 16bpp, hw can do this better. supports hot unplug using new drm core features. On an unplug, it disables connector polling, unplugs connectors from sysfs, unplugs fbdev layer (using Kay's API), drops all the USB device URBs, and call the drm core to unplug the device. This driver is based in large parts on udlfb.c so I've licensed it under GPLv2. Signed-off-by: Dave Airlie <[email protected]>
